The Waltham Board of Health met this evening (2/22/22) and have determined that at this time, face coverings will now be OPTIONAL in all indoor public spaces within the City of Waltham. Per the State of MA, mask requirements will remain in certain Locations such as on public transportation (including MBTA, commuter rail, buses, ferries, airplanes, rideshares and taxis), healthcare facilities, and more. See the full outline/requirements here. All Waltham Public Schools will continue to require masks for students and staff until Monday, March 7th.

As of last Thursday, February 17th, 2022, Waltham's positivity rating jumped down to 1.64% (under the 2% threshold). It's advised that those who are unvaccinated and those with a weakened immune system should continue to remain vigilant against the threat of COVID-19.
