Coronavirus Testing In Waltham: New Drive-up Test Site Opens
In addition to the pop up tests at AFC Urgent Care, PhysicianOne Urgent Care is offering regular drive-thru testings.

WALTHAM, MA — A second urgent care in Waltham is offering a drive up test center. In addition to AFC Urgent Care which has tested several hundred in its pop up clinics, PhysicianOne is now offering a regular drive-up testing site.
The new drive-thru test cite comes as the number of people in Waltham who have tested positive rose to 205 as of April 8. Across the state the number went up to 16,790. There were 433 deaths across the commonwealth, including at least one in Waltham.
PhysicianOne is asking anyone experiencing symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, loss of taste or smell or shortness of breath to be prescreened through a virtual visit with their office. This will qualify you for a reservation time to be tested.

COVID-19 testing is available seven days per week at all PhysicianOne Urgent Care locations for anyone who has successfully received a virtual visit prescreen.
“Although people are sick and having symptoms, they do not seem to be seeking care and advice for managing their symptoms or seeking testing options,"said PhysicianOne's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jeannie Kenkare in a statement. "It is critical that people with symptoms check in with a medical expert for personalized advice regarding their care and to understand the facts about testing. "

More than 50 percent of symptomatic patients now qualify for testing, according to health officials. Getting tested will help medical professionals understand the disease.
To schedule a prescreening head to the business's website, click the "check in online" option. During the virtual visit, a PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider will answer any questions you might have and assess symptoms and recommend next steps.
