'A Deer Timeout On The Field' During Brandeis Baseball Game
A family of deer visited a recent Brandeis baseball game.

WALTHAM, MA — This week, Brandeis University took on Case Western Reserve University on the road in the city of Cleveland. But in the beginning of the game, with Brandeis down by 1, they had a few furry walk-ons.
A family of three deer hopped the fence and raced across the outfield. The umpires called time and the announcer gave the play-by-play.
"We have a deer timeout," the announcer said. "The little one mostly has good speed out there. I don't know if the average is quite there for him, but certainly a prospect."

The deer seemed to be looking for a way out, but when a couple players tried to help by heading over to open the fence for them, they ran back the other way and jumped over the fence they came in through.
"We are an admission-free venue, so technically the deer are not trespassing, although we do encourage the fans to stay off the field," he said.
