First-Time Home Buyers: Sign Up for Watch CDC's Waltham Course

If you're looking to buy your first home in the Watch City, consider attending this September course for helpful tips.

WALTHAM, MA – Are you a first-time home buyer considering settling in Waltham?

Watch CDC is hosting four courses in September to provide you with helpful tips for taking the plunge on your first home.

The classes will touch on subjects such as credit, debit and budgeting issues; qualifying for a mortgage; shopping for a home; the legal aspects of home buying; and the responsibilities of being a homeowner.

The courses are certified by CHAPA's Massachusetts Homeowners Collaborative; participants must attend all four classes to receive a CHAPA Certificate of Completion, which makes them eligible for low-cost mortgages, as well as potential down payment assistance in some cities and towns.

Registration costs $50 and can be completed online here.

The classes will be held Tues., Sep. 20, Thurs., Sep. 22 and the following Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Charles River Public Internet Center, 154 Moody St. No make-up classes will be available.
