Free Speech Friday at Moody and Main

Protest Proves Popular with Passersby

It was a rave for the First Amendment Friday at the corner of Moody and Main where a sweet chaos of cheers and car horns had no quit.

The emergency protest called by Indivisable Waltham furthered a two day free speech frenzy following the firing of late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel. The firing had spurred Carlin clips, Peace Prize winner warnings, comedians from Letterman to Leno declaring, “This is just not how it works.”

Backed by bitter cold, high heat, petunias and pumkins, no Indivisible Waltham protest had been louder from passerby participation.

A cacaphony of democracy heard non stop horns, passengers applauding out windows, a scream of, “I love you!” to a sign holder running Jimmy Kimmel for President.
One convertible complainant met a red light and the quick reply, “Whats wrong with democracy?” from a dog walking sign holder.

The First Amendment moment protesting managed media also brought the message, “I want my late night TV.”
