Pair of Con Men Operating in Waltham
Two white men in a dark van are allegedly trying to enter residents' homes under false pretenses.

Police in a four community area including Waltham are advising residents of two suspects who are utilizing a ruse to enter the homes of potential victims.
The suspects, who have operated in Watertown, are described as two white men driving a dark-colored van.
According to Watertown Police, one man will call upon the homeowner and tell them he is there to cut trees, put up a fence or to check the water pressure. While he is distracting the homeowner, the second man will attempt to enter the home and seek items to steal.

Citizens are reminded that reputable contractors rarely solicit business by walking door-to-door.
The activity has also occurred in the neighboring towns of Arlington and Belmont. In these towns, the suspects made inquiries regarding chimney sweeps, fence work and tree work.
