Plaster Fun Time Chain Looking for Buyer to Expand
The chain currently operates nine studios in Massachusetts.

The owners of Plaster Fun Time announced last week they are seeking a buyer or investor for the nine-store chain.
The plaster studio, which has a location in Waltham, allows patrons to paint pre-made plaster items, such as banks, plates, figurines and teapots. The locations are popular with camps, scout troops and birthday parties.
In a press release, the Plaster Fun Time owners said they are looking to extend their chain nationally and internationally.

"I'd be willing and excited to help a growth oriented successor to roll Plaster Fun Time out across New England and then the country," President Mark Selvaggi said in the press release. "We could identify 100 new locations in short order. But that kind of growth, to be done right, requires people and capital."

Plaster Fun Time opened its first studio almost 20 years ago and currently has nine stores in Massachusetts: Braintree, Framingham, Saugus, Waltham, Reading, Salem, Chelmsford, Dedham and Newton.
According to the press release, Selvaggi and his family would consider opening a tenth store if a new location presented itself. Nevertheless, the owners are now focused on searching for "someone who can support much faster growth."
Plaster Fun Time is represented by Paul Siegenthaler of Ridge Hill Partners, Inc., a Needham-based "boutique" merger and acquisition firm.
