Quincy Man Arrested In Waltham In Connection With Boston Murder

After a man was murdered in Roxbury earlier this month, Boston police tracked down a suspect in Waltham.

WALTHAM, MA — A man was arrested in Waltham in connection with a Boston murder, police announced Tuesday. Just after 10 a.m. Monday, Boston police went to 21 Garden Lane where they arrested Lalance Smith, 29-years-old of Quincy, on charges of murder, armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

He was wanted on a warrant in connection with the shooting death of a Dorchester man earlier this month, police said.

Just after 3:30 a.m. on Friday, June 14, Boston police officers responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 107 Devon Street in Dorchester. When they got there, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police. An ambulance rushed, Arnold Woodrum, 59, of Dorchester to the hospital where he later died.

Waltham police have arrested 48 people so far this month. None of those charged have been charged with murder, although one man from Lowell was charged with assault to murder.
