See How Waltham Restaurants Fared in Health Inspections

Waltham Patch has launched a new feature in which it will provide details on Waltham’s restaurant inspection reports. The reports are public record and if inspectors find issues, they follow up with future re-inspections to assure the issue is resolved. If the Board of Health finds repeated problems, it can call them for a hearing with the board.

Watch City Brewing, 258 Moody St.: During an Oct. 24 visit, inspectors found a walk-in freezer needed to be defrosted, a radio obstructing a hand-washing sink and the need for more pest control of fruit flies over the bar area. The issues had been resolved by the Oct. 31 reinspection. Prior to the Oct. 31, the Waltham Health Department issued the eatery a warning letter saying inspections had revealed a "pattern" of issues. 

New Mother India, 336 Moody St.: An Oct. 25 inspection revealed nobody was in charge, food on the floor, a new door sweep was needed, several vents needed cleaning and the inspectors requested mice droppings be cleaned up in the basement. The restaurant was given five days to comply.

Waltham Sports Pub, 614 Main St.: No issues found. 

Ponzu, 286 Moody St.: During an Oct. 28 visit, inspectors found a dirty ice maker in the basement and requested it be cleaned.

Naked Fish, 455 Totten Pond Rd.: During an Oct. 24 visit, inspectors asked for food in the walk-in refrigerator to be covered and for dust to be cleared from heat lamps.
