Sources Disagree on Whether Waltham Suspect Was Armed When FBI Shot Him
A Muslim organization has called for an investigation into the shooting of a Waltham murder suspect.

A man, who allegedly implicated himself and one of the accused Boston Marathon bombers in the 2011 triple homicide in a Waltham home, was unarmed when he was shot and killed by an FBI agent, according to the Washington Post.
However, a source told FOX 25 Todashev attacked the agent with a sword.
Two law enforcement officials told the Post that Ibragim Todashev, 27, of Orlando, FL, was not armed when a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent shot and killed him. Previous r with a knife. In response, the agent shot Todashev.

The FBI told the Post that a post-shooting review team is investigating the incident. Also, the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations has called for an independent investigation of the shooting, according to the Post. A Council spokesman told the Boston Globe that Todashev had one bullet wound on the back of his head and three others near his heart.

Another source, however, told FOX 25 that Todashev pushed the agent into a wall and then began waving a sword in his direction. In fear of his life, the agent shot Todashev.
The confession Todashev was about to sign reportedly implicated himself and accused Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Authorities have concluded Tsarnaev and Todashev committed the murders as a drug theft. The Middlesex County District Attorney’s office is continuing to investigate the case.
Tsarnaev was killed during an April 19 shootout with police in Watertown.
Todashev’s father told the Post the FBI “made up” the allegations against him.
