Waltham Carjacker Sentenced to Prison
The carjacker threatened to stab his victim with a needle he said was filled with HIV-tainted blood.

A Waltham man has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to armed carjacking charges, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
Scott Steverding, 30, of Waltham, pleaded guilty to charges of armed carjacking, armed robbery, unarmed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon stemming from an August 2012 incident.
Middlesex Superior Court Judge Douglas Wilkins sentenced Steverding to five years on the carjacking charge and three years of probation for the two other charges. Steverding must also have no contact with the victims and undergo drug screenings and treatment.
