Waltham Cars Catch Fire After Downed Wires: Report

Waltham police said roads are closed due to a utility issue and should be avoided.

WALTHAM, MA — A report and video footage confirms that there is at least two cars on fire in a Waltham parking lot.

WCVB is reporting that the fire is burning at 410 Totten Pond Rd.

"A tractor-trailer hit a utility pole, which brought down the wires. We have crews on the way to make the area safe and clear damage as quickly and safely as possible," Eversource spokesperson Kaitlyn Woods told the publication.

Police reported the closures are on Border Road with no entry to 5th Avenue. There is also a closure at 5th Avenue at 3rd Avenue, police said.
