Waltham Development Company Celebrates 60th Anniversary
Duffy Properties' portfolio features office, industrial R&D, retail, medical, multi-family, residential and mixed-use developments.
WALTHAM, MA — Duffy Properties, a Waltham-based, family-owned property management, construction and real estate development company, celebrated its 60th anniversary last month.
Duffy Bros. Construction was founded in 1962 by four brothers, who were introduced to the construction trade by their father after completing their military service. They each began building residential homes in the Watertown and Waltham area and soon thereafter decided to pool their resources and work together.
Today, being a major landlord on the Route 128 corridor, Duffy Properties’ portfolio features office, industrial R&D, retail, medical, multi-family, residential and mixed-use developments.

“For the past sixty years, we have built a company and a reputation that we are proud of,” Kevin Duffy, Principal at Duffy Properties, said in a statement. “It is our family tradition to offer significant value and quality to our community and build solid relationships with all of our partners which are just a few reasons why our properties continue to flourish today.”
The company’s Waltham properties include Briar Glen Village, a 24-acre residential community, 400 5th Ave, a 115,000 square foot office building in Prospect Hill Office Park, Waverley Oaks Athletic Club, a modern state-of-the-art 50,000 SF health and wellness facility, and Waverley Oaks Park, a 65-acre mixed-use campus which was recently recognized as Waltham's premier destination for robotic companies.
“Over the last several years, Waltham has emerged as a robotics hub, playing host to some of the world’s most notable robotics companies,” Bob Duffy, Co-Director of Commercial Real Estate, said in a statement. “Waverley Oaks Park offers an ideal setting for not only robotics users, but a wide variety of businesses, by providing a robust selection of dining, fitness, and retail amenities including Waverley Oaks Athletic Club, City Streets Restaurant, Mighty Squirrel Brewery, a Conference Center, and direct shuttle service to Alewife station.”
