Waltham Gas Main Break Prompted Emergency Work, Road Closure
A portion of Lexington Street was closed to traffic due to a gas main break, Waltham officials said. It has since reopened.
WALTHAM, MA — Emergency work due to a gas main break prompted a road closure on Wednesday morning in Waltham, police said.
Lexington Street was closed to traffic from Curve Street to Piety Corner on Wednesday to do the break. All roadway operations have resumed as normal, however.
Police detoured northbound traffic at Totten Pond Road and southbound traffic onto Curve Street to Piety Corner Road to Lincoln Street then back to Lexington Street.

Heavy trucks couldn't go south past Waltham High School due to the roadway alterations, police said.
