Waltham Lion’s Family Carnival 2019: When, Where, What To Know
The third annual Lions Club carnival opens Wednesday and features games, food, a petting zoo, prizes and ride specials.

WALTHAM, MA — It's proven so popular that the Waltham Lions Family Carnival is now in its third year. The old fashioned-style carnival features rides, games, prizes, a petting zoo and food. The carnival is $2 to get in and will run Wednesday through Sunday at the Corneila Warren Field in Waltham on Beaver Street.
The carnival hours, and ride special days are below.
- May 10-19: 5-11 p.m.
- May 11: Noon-11 p.m.
- May 12: Noon-10 p.m.

- Wednesday: 5 p.m.-close
- Thursday: 5 p.m.-close
- Sunday: 5 p.m.-9 p.m.

Parking:

Free parking will be available at Duffy Properties on Waverly Oaks Road (next to the Shell station) after 5 p.m. on weekdays, and during carnival hours on the weekend. And a shuttle will help take carnival goers over to the venue. Handicap parking will be available at Cornelia Warren Field.
There will be NO public event parking at Waltham Fields Community Farm or Girl Scouts properties.

Watch out for road closures:
Waverly Oaks Road, from Linden Street to Beaver Street, will be shut down from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8 through Friday, May 10, and for the duration of the event on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12. Officials advise you to plan accordingly.

The Waltham Lions Club was chartered in 1939 with the motto "To Serve," according to the club's website. The group works to raise funds within the community mainly to assist with eye research and to prevent blindness, the website says.
"We also support local groups and those in need. Our main agenda as a civic club is to raise funds and serve the community," according to the site.
