Waltham Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash On Mass Pike

WALTHAM, MA — A Waltham man died last week in a motorcycle crash on I-90 in the Allston neighborhood of Boston, said Massachusetts State Police.

On Monday, June 27 around 10:30 p.m., police responded to a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on the Mass Pike eastbound, according to a news release.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that the operator of a 2005 Harley Davidson lost control and struck the median traveling eastbound on the Mass Pike. The operator was identified as Mark Ganong, 54, of Waltham. Ganong was pronounced dead at the scene.

The left lanes of the Mass Pike in both directions were closed until approximately 2:30 a.m. while an investigation was conducted.

The crash remains under investigation and no further information has been released.
