Waltham Man Wins $1 Million In Mega Millions Lottery Game
Waltham resident Richard Mayhew is the winner of last week's $1 million Mega Millions prize.

WALTHAM, MA — Well, we have a winner. Waltham resident Richard Mayhew is the winner of last week's $1 million Mega Millions prize after the first five numbers on his ticket matched those selected in the multi-state game’s drawing held Friday, May 17.
Mayhew, who claimed his prize at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester this week, chose to take his prize in a one-time payment of $1,000,000 (minus taxes).
He bought his winning Quic Pic ticket at Easy Convenience, 26 Elm St. across from the Waltham Common. No word on what he'll use his prize money for, yet.

The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
Mega Millions tickets are $2 each and can be played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. in Atlanta.
