Facing child pornography charges, Waltham Police Officer Paul Manganelli resigned earlier this month, according Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy.  McCarthy said she was notified on Oct. 8 that Manganelli had resigned."He is not a city employee," McCarthy said.  A federal grand jury indicted Manganelli on child pornography charges on Oct. 16, according to court records. Specifically, Manganelli was indicted for allegedly receiving child pornography and possession of child porn, according to federal court records. Manganelli was placed on paid administrative <a href="https://waltham.patch.com/groups/police-and-fire/p/waltham-police-officer-placed-on-leave-after-child-porn-charges">leave in March after Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrested him at his Waltham home.</a> Manganelli, who is free on supervised release, is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on Oct. 30.
