Waltham’s Moody Street Will Reopen To Traffic Nov. 1
The street has been closed since May 1 to allow more space for pedestrians and outdoor dining.

WALTHAM, MA — Moody Street in Waltham will reopen to traffic on Tuesday, Nov. 1 after six months of being closed for the warmer months to allow for more space for pedestrians and outdoor dining.
This was the third year in a row the Waltham Traffic Commission voted to close Moody Street from High Street to Pine Street from May 1 through October 31, a reflection of the city’s ongoing support of restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the height of the pandemic in spring 2020, Waltham was one of the first cities in the state to completely close a roadway to allow restaurants more space for outdoor dining. Because of this, it was held up as an example by communities across the commonwealth.
