Waltham Vets' Memorial Ice Rink: Hours, Hockey, Info

WALTHAM, MA — The Veterans Memorial Skating Rink at 295 Totten Pond Rd. is open for business, and town officials made a point to release a well of information about the rink. The info on the rink includes public skating, public hockey, learn to skate hours and ice rentals.

Public Skating

The cost is $3 for kids and seniors and $5 for adults. The rink is open on these days and times, which are subject to change over school vacation weeks, no school days and special events:

• Monday: closed
• Tuesday to Thursday: 10 to 11:50 a.m.
• Friday: 7 to 8 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 2 to 3:50 p.m.

Public Hockey

Full equipment is required. The cost is $10. It's open from Tuesday to Friday, from noon to 12:50 p.m. Hours are subject to change over school vacation weeks, no school days and special events. For full info, call 781-314-3474.

Rentals, Skate Sharpening

Employees will be available during peak hours to sharpen skates. There may be high demand, however, so in some cases skaters may have to leave their skates and pick them up later. The cost is $7, with $3 extra for rusty or new skates.

Skate rentals cost $7, and must be used at the location only.

Learn to Skate Program

The Learn to Skate Program is provided by Bay State Skating School, reachable at 781-890-8480.

Ice Rental

Ice rental has some hours available. Rental slots come in 50-minute intervals and cost $200 for non-profit or youth groups, and $220 for private groups. Just fill out the ice rental request form.

Helmets

They recommend everybody wear helmets, but all kids under age 7 are required to wear helmets.
