Deborah Sampson, the first woman to enlist, fight, and be honorably discharged from the American military, takes center stage in this free, captivating one-hour performance by Judith Kalaora. Born an indentured servant and raised in a world where women were considered second-class citizens, Deborah Sampson dared to enlist in the Massachusetts 4th Regiment of the Continental Army. Judith Kalaora brings Sampson to life with depth and authenticity, and will discuss Sampson's life with audience members after the show. This free show is part of the Town of Wayland's celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
