Wayland Property Tax Bill Tenth Highest in State, Says Report
The Boston Business Journal recently ranked Massachusetts municipalities' property tax rates.

Many communities in the more affluent suburbs of Boston are two- to three-times the state median of $3,533, reported the Boston Business Journal in a recent comparison of property taxes in Massachusetts.
Weston ranked at the top in the comparison, with a $17,832 average annual property tax bill for homeowners. Duxbury has seen the biggest increase. The BBJ reported that 14 communities had average single-family bill of at least $10,000, which is up one community from last year’s figure.
Wayland ranked at no. 10 in the list, paying an average single-family tax bill of $10,974, up slightly from 2013, when it was $10,529, showing a four percent increase. Since 2003, Wayland’s rate has gone up 53 percent. The average single family home in Wayland is valued at $598,679.
