New Westborough Police Chief: 'Communication Is Key'

Chief Lourie takes over for the retiring Chief Gordon, and launches a welcoming "Chief's Corner."

WESTBOROUGH, MA—Taking over for retired chief Alan Gordon, Jeffrey Lourie took the reins last week, sworn in at the Board of Selectmen meeting as the town's newest police chief.

Lourie took quickly to social media to introduce himself, and announce the "Chief's Corner," considered his first post of many as Westborough Police Chief.

It truly is an honor to have been given the opportunity to be the caretaker of such a professional agency. I look forward to leading and working alongside our Sworn and Civilian Staff. I also look forward to working with and collaborating with fellow Department Heads, Town Administration, Elected Officials, Town Employees and Volunteers.
Our mission will be to provide the very best in public safety services to the Community. Communication is key and I ask that if you have a question, concern or suggestion please contact the department and we will work to facilitate your request.
We will utilize social media to educate and keep residents informed of local issues and happenings. We will also show the ”lighter side” at times adding a little humor. Remember that if you are reporting a crime or issue please contact the police department as our sites are not monitored 24-7.
I look forward to connecting with the community and ensuring we provide a public safety service that is second to none. I’m excited to get to work with our team and look forward to meeting the community and developing programs and initiatives to enhance the quality of life in our Town. Stay safe everyone!
