Paving The Spurr House, To Put Up A Parking Lot
It looks like none of the options or bids worked out for the Spurr House, and it is likely to become a parking lot.

WESTBOROUGH, MAβA $115,000 bid to buy the historic Spurr House in Westborough just wasn't high enough to save the property, the Board of Selectmen voted at its meeting this week.
The board voted unanimously to reject the bid for 7 Parkman St., which will likely become a parking lot, reports the Community Advocate.
The town sought request for proposals through April of last year, led by the Spurr House Committee, which was formed as a result of a vote on Article 27 of the March 2015 Annual Town Meeting that gave authority to the town moderator to appoint five people, βTo study alternatives for the ultimate disposition of the Spurr House with recommendations brought to the next Special Town Meeting."

Built in 1849, the Spurr House, located behind the Forbes Municipal Building, has been owned by the town since the Forbes family donated it in 1933. The American Legion used this home as a meeting place, but it's been vacant since 2014.
Eight options had been considered for the property.

The Westborough Historical Commission told the Community Advocate, βWe are disappointed that the Board of Selectmen seems to be moving forward with the plan to turn the Spurr House into a parking lot instead of finding a use for it that might contribute to the townβs revenues.β
