Sex Offender With Local Ties Was Captured Last Night

After the Massachusetts State Police asked the public for help yesterday in locating a dangerous Level 3 Sex Offender last seen in the Metrowest area, he has been located and arrested in Augusta, Maine.

After asking for public assistance yesterday in locating a convicted Level 3 sex offender, the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) reported that they have successfully captured the man in Augusta, Maine. MSP said that as a result of intelligence developed, troopers and local police located Brian Addeo and arrested him at a rooming house at 53 Water St.

Brian Addeo, 32, is a lifetime parolee who has been convicted of Kidnapping, Unnatural Rape of a Child Under 16 (4 counts), Aggravated Rape (2 counts), Indecent Assault & Battery on a Child (4 counts), Indecent Exposure (4 counts) and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) in Worcester Superior court, according to a press release from the MSP released yesterday. His convictions stemmed from 3 separate incidents and involved six different female victims here in Massachusetts.

State police believe he fled the state after removing his GPS tracking bracelet in Tewksbury on Friday, March 11.

Addeo's last known address was in nearby Upton, after being released from prison and sentenced to lifetime community parole supervision by a Worcester Superior Court Judge in April of last year, said the release.

Police say that Addeo cut off his bracelet and threw it in the back of a pickup truck parked in a Home Depot parking lot in Tewksbury. They believe he did this in an effort to evade police and recapture.
