There Are 11 Dems, 2 Repubs, Vying For MA 3rd Congressional Seat

MASSACHUSETTS—The race is a crowded one so far, as there are 11 Democrats and two Republicans vying for the 3rd Congressional seat held by Niki Tsongas. Tongas has held the seat since Jan. 2013, and announced in August that she would not seek re-election.

The 3rd Congressional District, which includes towns in Middlesex, Worcester and Norfolk Counties, encompasses towns such as Marlborough, Wrentham, Northborough, Westborough and Worcester.

The following, which includes to current state representatives and one former ambassador to Denmark, are running for the seat in the primary on Sept. 4, according to Ballotpedia.
