Town Of Westborough: Congratulations To The November 2021 Employee Excellence Award Winner Ray Gauthier!

The Employee Excellence Award committee is pleased to present this award to Ray Gauthier in the Board of Health Department. 

Ray is acknowledged for wearing many hats.  He has held the position of Health Inspector, Sanitarian, and most recently, “Interim Health Director”.  Ray has stepped up to serve as needed in every capacity for his department.  Working many overtime hours during the pandemic, “he made endless contact tracing calls and was patient, compassionate, sympathetic and always friendly during those calls, which could be trying at times.”  He has played a “…crucial role in implementing Covid-19 Vaccine clinics for the residents of Westborough.”  In addition to his regular duties, he has readily taken on the roles of co-workers who have left in the interim before replacements have been hired.  Ray’s background affords the department a broad knowledge base that is extremely useful when unusual situations or questions from the public arise.  Detailed and organized, he takes the job seriously but greets each day and every challenge with patience and humor.  Ray has a unique ability to be both friendly and appropriately stern with clients when approaching a tough situation.  His upbeat personality injects fun into a dull day at the office.  An all-around ‘good guy’, he has even been known to wipe the snow off people’s cars during the winter before leaving for the day!
