Voters Approve Sandra Pond Reservoir Watershed Work
The vote at Tuesday night's special town meeting followed slide presentations from both sides, and a lengthy debate.

Voters at Westborough's special town meeting Tuesday night allocated $50,000 for a Sandra Pond Reservoir Watershed maintenance project.
The vote followed slide presentations from both sides, and a lengthy debate. Town Moderator Joe Harrington declared the request from Public Works Manager John Walden and Conservation Officer Derek Saari passed by a "very clear majority."
The vote came during the second night of Westborough's special town meeting, held in the Westborough High School auditorium.
The $50,000 will come from Westborough's free cash account.
Among the other requests approved Tuesday night were:
- $22,000 from the open space reserve account, to secure easements for a proposed multi-use trail through Westborough.
- $53,343 from free cash, to finish a paving and curbing project at the Westborough Senior Center.
- accepting a state law allowing Westborough to accept voluntary donations to help low income elderly and disabled residents with their property taxes.
