WHS Boys Cross-Country Places 2nd at Wachusett Invitational

Rangers sophomore Eric Latimer finished the 5K fourth overall.

The Westborough High School boys cross-country team placed second in Class B during the 56th Annual Wachusett Invitational, held Saturday at Wachusett Regional High School in Holden.

The Rangers earned 95 points, finishing in 1:32.33.40, according to coolrunning.com. Nashoba won the eight-team meet with 23 points (1:26:56.60). Quabbin was third with 97 points (1:33.04.50).

Rangers sophomore Eric Latimer finished the 5K fourth overall, in 17:25. Nashoba senior Mark Puleo won the race in 16:56.8, followed by Nashoba junior Adam Heislein (17:03.9) and Hudson junior Andrew Doherty Munro (17:08).

Also finishing in the top 20 for Westborough were junior Tim Forrest (16th, 18:30.6) and junior Julian Binici (20th, 18:37).
