Field School to Participate in Walk to School Day Thursday
The students are participating in awareness of the issue.

Students from will be participating in International Walk to School Day on Thursday morning to raise awareness about the importance of walking or bicycling to school instead of taking the bus.
Principal Matt Lucey said the students will be dropped off at Regis College and will walk together to school.
In an informational statement he sent to Weston Patch, Lucey outlined the goals of the program:

The walk is intended to serve many purposes. These goals include:
- To remind children and parents about the range of transportation choices;
- To teach students important lifelong bicycling and walking safety skills;
- To create an awareness among drivers in the vicinity of schools;
- To demonstrate the health benefits of our children through regular exercise;
- To improve the physical health, environmental health and safety of our students.
Weston and Regis College police will be on hand to direct traffic and monitor the students' safety on Wellesley Street.
