Have You Checked Out the Historical Society's Website Yet?

Not a lot of people know it, but the Weston Historical Society has a comprehensive and informative website.

Editor's note: This article was submitted by Robin Reisman, the Weston Historical Society website co-editor.

The Weston Historical Society has a website, found at www.westonhistory.org, and there is much interesting material to be found on the site, in the form of both text and pictures. Image galleries of artifacts and photographs from the Society's collections, information about the featured speakers, programs, and special exhibits since 2009, links to all the fall and spring bulletins from 2006-2009, and the newest feature, a clever and fun interactive website for kids developed early in 2011 by students of Boston University's Center for Digital Imaging. You should check it out.

Actually, the website has been up for a couple of years, but few seem to be aware of it. We’d like to change all that, hence this notice. And if you aren’t already a member, please consider joining, especially in light of the upcoming 300th anniversary of the Town of Weston in 2013, preparations for the celebration of which are already underway; plus, this year is the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War, so there will be special events to commemorate that monumentally important historic passage as well. If you visit the website, you will be able to download and print the membership form.
