How Do I Run for a Town Office?
Town election season is here. Now's the time to prepare for a run for office.
Weston residents will vote to fill a variety community offices during the annual town election on May 11.
The following boards have vacancies, the number in parentheses, to fill in the election:
- Board of Assessors (1)
- Board of Health (1)
- Board of Library Trustees (2)
- Board of Selectmen (1)
- Commissioners of Trust Funds (1)
- Measurers of Lumber (3)
- Moderator (1)
- Planning Board (1 + 1 [4 yr. term] to fill recent vacancy)
- Recreation Commission (2)
- School Committee (2)

Town Caucus Option

The Town Caucus will take place March 11. Nominations for the elected positions will be made and seconded from the floor of the Town Caucus, so plan now to attend if you'd like to run for a position.
Nomination Papers Option
If you aren't nominated at Town Caucus, you still have the opportunity to get your name on the ballot. Visit the Office of the Town Clerk and pick up nomination papers. You'll need to collect a specified number of valid signature (aim for a few more than required to compensate for invalid or duplicate signatures).
The papers must be filed with the Registrar of Voters by March 25.
