In honor of National Volunteer Month this April, Maplewood at Weston – the vibrant senior living community that offers an independent lifestyle and a personalized assisted living and Memory Care experience – hosted a “Spring has Sprung” Fair on Saturday, April 6th in collaboration with The Meadowbrook School, to celebrate the school’s Centennial Day of Service.
The Spring morning was truly a testament to the power of community, intergenerational connection, and shared experiences. Maplewood at Weston residents, a few of whom are coincidentally Meadowbrook alumni, warmly welcomed numerous volunteer members from the Meadowbrook community – from students and current parents to alumni, parents of alumni, and faculty - for a day brimming with activities. Volunteers of all ages painted kindness rocks to scatter around the Maplewood community, read Spring stories, planted vibrant pansies to adorn the patio, and enjoyed conversation with residents.

The Memory Care residents and their families cherished their time with the Meadowbrook volunteers, in an incredible morning filled with joyous moments. The partnership truly underscored the Maplewood community’s commitment to creating memorable and enriching experiences for its Memory Care residents.
“It was a wonderful morning filled with blossoming friendship, smiles, laughs and hugs, tasty treats, fresh air, and community building,” Jill Rubin, Lifestyle Director at Maplewood at Weston, said. “The residents and volunteers shared a mutual love for the event- some of the Meadowbrook volunteers had so much fun that they’re already planning to join us again in the coming months.”
