Mental Health: A Few More Places to Turn to for Help
A few more resources that families can turn to for help in navigating Mentel Health issues
Mental Health: Places to Turn & Places to Learn This series of National Preparedness Month postings from the WERC [https://westonma.gov/486/Weston-Emergency-Reserve-Corps] ends with a few more resources families should know about that support individuals in various places along the mental wellness to illness spectrum. For urgent needs, call, text, or chat to 9-8-8 [https://988lifeline.org/] to be connected to trained counselors who are part of the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network. For less urgent inquiries, there is Mass211 [https://mass211.org/], where dialing 2-1-1 connects callers to information about critical health and human services available in their community. Lastly, one good way for families to learn about and start discussing these complex issues is to visit the Museum of Science’s exhibit Mental Health: Mind Matters [https://www.mos.org/exhibits/mind-matters], which is there through Jan 22nd. May you and yours be safe and be well.
