Regis Women’s Network Launches New Speaker Series: Women Who Inspire

In celebration of the university’s Heritage Week and Women's History Month, Regis launched a new speaker series titled Women Who Inspire that highlights inspirational leaders and change makers. Kicking off the series, sponsored by Eastern Bank and presented by the Regis Office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations, the inaugural event featured a conversation about entrepreneurship in healthcare with Alexandra Rogers '14, '15, NP, and Alexa Nicholls Costa '14, '15, NP, co-founders of LexRx, an aesthetic injectables practice with locations throughout Boston and in Nantucket.

The recently established Regis Women’s Network (RWN) is an inclusive group of alumni, students, parents, trustees, faculty and staff, and friends of Regis. The RWN provides unique opportunities to bring together diverse constituents within the Regis community to connect, learn, and empower one another to thrive, both personally and professionally.

"The Regis Women’s Network strengthens our community by encouraging long-lasting relationships between alumni, current students, and the university,” said President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN. “Through the generosity of Eastern Bank, Regis is able to inspire the next generation of women who will lead in their chosen field, communities, and beyond.”

Women as professionals, leaders, students, influencers and members of our communities have so much wisdom and inspiration to share from their journeys. If we are to continue to advance economic equity and mobility for all, we must make sure we are leveraging and learning from the collective and individual power and knowledge of women,” said Nancy Stager, President and CEO, Eastern Bank Foundation.

The inaugural event included a breakfast networking reception and an interactive fireside chat with Rogers and Costa moderated by Regis trustee Lisa Spadafora Thompson '91.

“We feel fortunate to be in the positions that we’re in today as women business owners, nurse practitioners, and entrepreneurs. We feel proud that we have been able to carve our own path as nurse practitioners and we want to inspire and continue to support women who are looking to do it in their specialties as well,” said Costa.
