Driving around Weston Monday afternoon, it was hard to believe there been pouring rain and whipping winds just 24 hours earlier.
The sun was out, the streets were clear and things seemed mostly back to usual.
Department of Public Works Director Bob Hoffman said his crews had been out from about 8 a.m. Sunday morning to 1 a.m. Monday morning.

"They picked up about 200 [tree] limbs and about 20 to 30 trees," he said.
The storm did not permanently shut any streets down, and the damage was not concentrated to one part of town, said Hoffman.

For the rest of the week, DPW crews will work on clearing the debris, and street sweeping will begin next week, said Hoffman. For the next three Wednesdays and Saturdays, the brush dump on Merriam Street will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. so residents can dispose of their yard waste.
