Westwood Named One Of The Top Places To Live In Boston Magazine

WESTWOOD, MA - Westwood has been named a 2022 Top Place to Live in the upcoming issue of Boston magazine.

Each year, Boston magazine’s "Top Places to Live" segment highlights the region's most coveted communities, breaking down one of the nation's most intricate real-estate markets into a comprehensive guide featured in the March issue. The magazine’s Top Places to Live is considered an authoritative source for what’s trending in the greater Boston real estate market.

The most recent Top Places to Live names 18 communities as Top Places to Live – examining each based on current trends, values, tax rates, education systems and much more. This year, with feverish demand, rising prices and low inventory, the guide focuses on six key trends driving the market.

Westwood was recognized under the headline “Route 128 or Bust,” as homeowners continue to migrate to the 128 corridor in search of the perfect commute and easy proximity to Boston itself.

The magazine cites Westwood for its excellent schools, bustling downtown, and convenient transit options, noting “commuters here can choose from driving into work or hopping the commuter rail at Route 128 train stop that takes people into the city in as little as 20 minutes.”

Patch recently wrote about Westwood's schools receiving high marks on the state report card issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

According to the magazine, the median single-family home price in Westwood is $1,049,000 with a residential property tax rate of $14.83.
