1 Dead, 1 Injured In Overnight Crash On Route 3 In Weymouth
Two people were trapped inside a car that veered off Route 3 Northbound and into the woodline just after 2 a.m., police said.
WEYMOUTH, MA — One person has died and another was hospitalized after they were trapped in a car that veered off of Route 3 Northbound in Weymouth early Thursday morning.
Troopers responded to the single-car crash just after 2 a.m. Thursday.
The vehicle was in the woodline — the line of trees separating the highway from the forest — and two occupants were trapped in it, Massachusetts State Police tweeted Thursday morning.

Just after 2AM Troopers responded to single-car crash, Rt 3 NB, Weymouth. Car into wood line, 2 occoupants are entrapped. One of them suffered fatal injury, the other taken to South Shore Hospital w/serious injuries. All lanes have reopened. Investigation/reconstruction ongoing.

One of the occupants suffered fatal injuries, and the other was transported to South Shore Hospital with "serious injuries," police said.
An investigation is ongoing, police said, and closed lanes have since reopened.
