Gas Grill Fire Damages Weymouth Home
No one was injured when a grill caught fire on Tuesday afternoon.

The siding and trim of a Union Street home was damaged on Tuesday, June 25, when a gas grill caught fire.
The resident was cooking dinner around 4 p.m. when the grill caught fire, according to Weymouth Deputy Fire Chief Richard Chase. A neighbor kept the flames in check with a garden hose before the Weymouth Fire Department arrived.
Chase believes the fire was caused by the hose that attaches the propane tank to the grill.
The deputy chief advises grill-users to make sure their hoses are properly attached, adding soap can be used to check for leaks. Chase also said you should never smell propane around the grill.
Chase said the safest place for a grill is away from the house, on grass. He said grills should also never be higher than the first floor.
