Marathon Victim to Attend Seach Primary School Help-A-Thon

The daughter of a Weymouth bus driver, who lost a leg in the Boston Marathon bombings, will attend a benefit in her honor on Wednesday.

The students and staff at William Seach Primary School have been raising money to help Mery Daniel, the daughter of Harry Volmar, a bus driver for the school, who lost her leg in the Boston Marathon attacks.

The school was just informed, Daniel will be able to take time off from her rehabilitation to attend a Help-A-Thon for the Mery Daniel Foundation at 10:30 on Wednesday, June 5.

"We are honored that she will be released from rehab to attend," Betsy Harris, Weymouth Public School Community Relations Liaison, wrote in an email.

The school community will walk a mile to honor the marathon victims and recognize first responders on Wednesday. The highest fundraiser from each class will also present a check to the family.
