South Weymouth Whole Foods Market to Open Wednesday

Whole Foods Market will open at 35 Pleasant Street on Wednesday, July 10. The natural foods supermarket will feature a variety of unique features and plenty of favorites.

The 40,000-square-foot former Johnnie's Foodmaster will employ 140 full and part time team members. The store, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, will have seven regular registers and three express lanes.

Each Whole Foods Market is different. A variety of features are added based on customer demand and space. Like all Whole Foods, this location will sell high quality food items with an emphasis on local and organic.

The prepared food section in Weymouth will have many options. Aside from the hot and cold bars there will be a full service grill and sandwich section. Dim sum and rotisserie chicken will also be available daily.

Shoppers who wish to eat at the store will be able to sit in the 28-seat cafe.

Between the store's produce and meat sections shoppers will find a demonstration station called "Cooking at South Weymouth." The full time employee manning the station will show shoppers how to make unique bulk food items and provide advice and recipes.

The store will also have a fresh juice section and expanded pet and whole body areas.

The South Weymouth Whole Foods will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Prior to the opening, a "bread breaking" ceremony featuring Whole Foods management and Weymouth officials.
