WEYMOUTH, MA — Amid staffing shortages, Weymouth High School is closed Wednesday following the winter break.

"While we understand that closing school is challenging for families, we know we must have adequate school support to operate effectively," Superintendent Robert Wargo wrote. "We will continue to monitor our capacity to reopen schools over the next 24 hours, and will reassess every 24 hours for the remainder of the week."
With rising COVID-19 case numbers following the winter break, multiple school districts made the decision to cancel or delay classes on Monday, and some even on Tuesday as well, to allow staff and students more time to properly test before returning to school.
