Weymouth Resident Designs Reusable Bag for Hannaford Supermarkets

A nine-year-old Weymouth boy won Hannaford's Design a Reusable Bag Contest for Kids.

A young South Weymouth artist will have his Earth Day inspired work featured on a reusable shopping bag, available at all 181 Hannaford Supermarket stores in the northeast.

Brendan DiTullio, 9, is the Massachusetts winner of the annual design contest. His drawing is now alongside the winners from New Hampshire, Vermont and New York.

Brendan had a special unveiling and signing event at the Norwell Hannaford Supermarket on April 27. He also received a $100 Hannaford gift card for his winning submission.

Brendan's winning artwork was chosen by a group of judges from hundreds of submissions among eligible children between seven and 13. This year's theme was "What kind of superhero can help us learn to eat healthy foods?"
