Whitman's Pond Family Fishing Festival Set for Sunday

The Whitman's Pond Family Fishing Festival will take place at the pond on Sunday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The annual event is organized by the Whitman's Pond Association and Weymouth Youth and Family Services.

Young anglers can fish in the pond while learning about safety, local fish and fishing equipment from the MassWildlife Angler Education Program. Those with fishing poles are encouraged to bring them, but a limited amount of equipment and bait will be available.

MassWildlife Angler Education Program holds fishing festivals across the state throughout the spring and summer. Fishing licenses are not required at this event.
