Whole Foods Opening Day to Benefit Five Local Charities

The new Whole Foods Market will donate five percent of its profits to five local charities on Wednesday, July 10.

The South Weymouth Whole Foods Market, 35 Pleasant Street, will start giving back to the community on it's first day in town. The store will donate one percent of its net sales to five different local charities on opening day, Wednesday, July 10.

The grand opening in Weymouth is one of the company's "Five Percent Days," where typically, a nonprofit is chosen to receive five percent of profits from a particular day.

For the store's launch, five nonprofits were chosen to benefit from the community giving program.

The benefiting local charities are: Abigail Adams Historical Society, Arc of the South Shore, Habitat for Humanity, Thomas Hamilton Primary School Parent Council and South Shore Support Services.
