Wilmington's Fun on the Fourth Events Kick off Tuesday
This year marks the 35th year and events run from June 30 through July 4, culminating with the annual town fireworks display.

Wilmington is gearing up for its annual Fourth of July celebration with another jam packed, five days of events leading up to the annual fire works. Sponsored by Wilmington’s Fourth of July Committee, this year marks the 35th anniversary of July Fourth events in town.
Here’s a look at this year’s schedule (Note: some events do required consent forms)
Tuesday, June 30
Location: Town Common

- 6-8 p.m. - Rotary $8 dinner (Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Cookie, Lemonade) Note: In case of rain meal will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 126 Middlesex Ave.)
- 6-9:30 p.m. - Performance by Throw Back to the 60’s Show (sponsored by Rotary)
- 6 p.m. - Horseshoes (First Round) (Participants must sign a Consent Form. Under 18 signed by a parent.)
- 6 p.m. - Wiffle Ball (14 & under) - (15 & over) (Participants must sign a Consent Form. Under 18 signed by a parent.)
- 6:30 p.m. - Road Race (Participants must sign a Consent Form. Under 18 must be signed by a parent.)
- 7 p.m. - Ladies 2-mile Walk (Participants must sign a Consent Form. Under 18 signed by a parent.)
- 7:30 p.m. - Blueberry Pie Eating Contest (Participants must sign a Release of Liability Form. Under 18 signed by a parent.)
- 8:45 p.m. - Free Movie (provided by Rotary Club)
Wednesday, July 1
Location: Aleppo Shriners, 99 Fordham Road
- 5:30-7:30 p.m. - B.S.A. Troop 322, $8 Dinner (Marinated Chicken over Rice, Salad, Bread and Butter, Drink)
- 6-9:30 p.m. - Performance by Spike the Punch (sponsored by Re/Max Encore)
- 6-10 p.m. - Carnival (Ride Special/Pay One Price - $25)
Thursday, July 2
Location: Aleppo Shriners, 99 Fordham Road

- 6-10 p.m. - Carnival
Friday, July 3
Location: Aleppo Shriners, 99 Fordham Road
- 5:30-7:30 p.m. - Sons of Italy, $8 Dinner (Spaghetti and Meatballs, Salad, Roll and Butter, Drinks)
- 6-9:30 p.m. - Performance by The Haverty Brothers Band (sponsored by The Savings Bank)
- 6-10 p.m. - Carnival
Saturday, July 4 Family Day (7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Location: Town Common
- 7-10 a.m. - Knights of Columbus (at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 126 Middlesex Ave.) $5 Breakfast (Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Hash Browns, Corn Bread, Juice, Coffee)
- 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Travel’n DJ Sounds
- 8:30 a.m. - Assemble for Doll Carriage and Bike Parade (on Town Common)
- 9:15 a.m. - Opening Ceremonies
- 9:30 a.m. - Horseshoes (Final Round)
- 9:30 a.m. - Wiffle Ball (Family Bracket)
- 9:30 a.m. - Limbo Contest (How flexible are you? Join in the fun!)
- 9:45 a.m. - Raffle Ticket Drawing-Bikes (need to be present to win). Donated by Jeff Stone Trucking
- 10 a.m. - Family Entertainer
- 10 a.m. - 3-legged Race
- 10 a.m. - Baby Crawl (12 months and under)
- 10:30 a.m. - Tug of War
- 11 a.m. - Hula Hoop Contest
- 11:30 a.m. - Bucket Brigade
- Noon - Water Balloon Toss
- 12:30 p.m. - Conclusion of events on the Town Common. (Events continue at Aleppo Shriners)
Saturday, July 4 SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS
Location: Aleppo Shriners, 99 Fordham Road
- Noon to 5 p.m. - Carnival Special (Unlimited rides for $10)
- 5-10 p.m. - Carnival (Regular Price)
- 5-11 p.m. - Free Shuttle Buses (See Parking Areas and Bus Routes Schedule on the Fun on the Fourth’s website)
- 5-7 p.m. - Kiwanis, $8 Dinner (1/2 Chicken BBQ, Potato Salad, Cranberry Sauce, Roll, Watermelon, Drink)
- 7:30 p.m. - Opening Ceremonies
- 7:45-9:30 p.m. - Performance by The Windham Community Band (sponsored by Analog Devices)
- 9 p.m. - Raffle Ticket Drawing (Winners do not need to be present at time of drawing to win)
- 9:30 p.m. - SPECTACULAR FIREWORKS (Rain date: Sunday, July 5)
Some notes from the Fourth of July Committee about the events:
The Fourth of July Committee recommends all meal tickets be purchased in advance.
In case of rain, meals will be served inside the Aleppo Shriner’s, with the exception of the Tuesday meal at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
