Body Of Missing Boater Found In Winchester Lake Identified
Police are investigating after a man in his 50s was pulled from Upper Mystic Lake off Shannon Beach in Winchester.

WINCHESTER, MA — A body of a man who had been reported missing Monday during the Fourth of July holiday was found Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to a report of a boater under the water in Upper Mystic Lake off Shannon Beach in Winchester just before 5:45 p.m. Monday.
Alford Garcia, 52, of Lynn, was on an inflatable float when he fell off and witnesses told police they saw Garcia go under the water. State police say he likely attempted to swim to shore, but became tired and started struggling in the water.

After witnesses tried to find and save Garcia, Environmental Police officers, state police, fire crews, a helicopter, and a dive team took over to search for him. The search continued Tuesday morning when the body was recovered and pulled to the beach.
The lake and park were closed while crews conducted their search.
