LETTER: "Caroline Colarusso or Michael Day for State Rep.?

Winchester resident Robert Suslavich pens a letter to the editor of Winchester Patch.

Dear Editor,

How to choose? How can we believe the ads? Who’s lying or stretching the truth? Who is best for Winchester?

As a longtime resident of Winchester (1979) a town I chose to move to and one I love; I don’t want to see our pastoral town destroyed by over development. When we, in north Winchester, were targeted by 40B “consultants”/developers, did Michael Day come to our aid in opposition to the 96 unit, 5 story apartment house in our residential neighborhood? NO. He did nothing for us. He disappeared. Only attended one selectman’s meeting and said nothing. Appeals board meetings…nada, missing.

Long before this election cycle, Caroline Colarusso has been fighting the 40B housing project debacle in her town and organizing many meetings in Winchester and Stoneham to inform and propose changes she will introduce when elected. She has met the neighbors “door to door”, she has listened to our needs. She is passionate about protecting our community values. She is fighting the battle in Stoneham. She knows what to do and has the experience and support of Gov. Baker to carry it out for us in the state house.

Do you want someone to fight for Winchesters’ future, or to write letters expressing “extreme concern” as Michael Day has to MassHousing. Do you want a fighter or writer? Do you want platitudes or ACTION? Someone to “just go along” or someone to “go long” for Winchester. Rep. Day did nothing for north Winchester. We got 40B’ed. If he continues in office, which one of our other neighborhoods will get “B’ed.?

We Need Caroline Colorusso, with her energy and passion, in the state house for us.

Even if you don’t like our presidential choices, please show up to vote for CAROLINE COLARUSSO State Rep. for us. Thank you.

Robert Suslavich
