MassDOT Hearing Thursday On New Train Station Project

WINCHESTER, Ma. - The Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the MBTA will be in Winchester Thursday looking to hear your opinions on the new train station.

The public meeting will be held at the Winchester Public Library from 6-8 p.m. Come to the meeting and share your thoughts on the Winchester Center New Train Station Project. The DOT and MBTA are seeking public comment on the design of an upcoming MBTA project in Winchester. All are welcome to attend. No registration is required.

This hearing is one of a limited number of chances to have input in the process, which includes the following:

• Stairs and elevators replacing the Chamber building
• New pedestrian bridge over the rotary
• Ramp on Shore Road
• Ramp and S stair on Laraway Road
• 28 month construction schedule
• Station closed during construction
• Shuttle busses to Wedgemere during construction
• Laraway Road parking lot closed during construction

According to the Winchester Chamber of Commerce, this project will have a significant impact on the downtown business community.
