Thanksgiving in Winchester: What's Open, Closed

Thanksgiving Day is almost here. It’s also the start of the holiday season.

This year, like last year, we only have 28 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas so you’ll have to cram in your shopping in a four-week period.

Thanksgiving will be observed on Thursday, Nov. 26 this year. Below we have a list of what’s open (and closed) on the Thanksgiving holiday and Black Friday.

Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26:

• Retail stores: Closed.
• Supermarkets, liquor stores: Closed.
• Convenience stores: Open at owner’s discretion.
• Gyms: Closed or reduced hours.
• Bars and restaurants: Open at owner’s discretion.
• Stock market: Closed.
• Municipal, state, federal offices and banks: Closed.
• Libraries and schools: Closed.
• Post office: Closed.

Friday, Nov. 27:

• Winchester Public Library: Open
• Winchester Town Hall: Closed
